OSHKOSH, Wis. (WTAQ) - Thousands of vintage planes are heading to Oshkosh, as the Experimental Aircraft Association opens its annual AirVenture show Monday.

Pilots who flew in Sunday were forced to keep their aircraft on the taxiways at Wittman Regional Airport, because the show grounds were so wet. Those who came in earlier found dry spots on the main exhibit field.

The event runs through next Sunday. It features the usual air shows, as well as the 75th anniversary of the first flight of the “B-17” bomber.

There will also be helicopter rides, exhibits that feature electric aircraft, and much more. A performance by the rock group Chicago is scheduled for Monday night.
