GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - The northern third of Wisconsin is cleaning up from another round of severe storms Tuesday night.
Funnel clouds were spotted near Wausau and Lac du Flambeau, but there were no reports of touchdowns. Hail the size of tennis balls fell in parts of Shawano County. Winds gusted to 65-miles-an-hour near Rhinelander.
Vilas and Lincoln counties had trees and power lines down. And most counties in the north had at least some tree damage.
In Duluth, traffic was tied up for 2 hours as the Aerial Lift Bridge at the Duluth Harbor stayed in the up-position. Traffic lights at the bridge were struck by lightning, and the bridge was back to normal after an electrical panel was replaced.
Most parts of the state had a muggy night – and it never got below 70 in some spots. Southern Wisconsin could get some thunderstorms Wednesday morning. But otherwise, forecasters say it will be dry at least into Friday. It’s also supposed to get a few degrees cooler Wednesday night and Thursday.
