GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) -- Another wave of intense storms blew through west Michigan overnight with reports of a funnel near Sparta, triggering tornado warnings and sirens in Kent County. There were winds in excess of 60MPH knocking over trees in northern Ottawa County, heavy heavy rains in the Grand Haven area and loads of lightning, sparking a few home fires in Kentwood.

George Wetzel at the National Weather service in Grand Rapids says we haven’t seen the last of the stormy weather by any stretch. He says we could see more tonight and early tomorrow and again later on Wednesday.

In fact he says we could be stuck in this gooey pattern thru the end of July. He says it’s difficult to predict where the worst storm cells will hit in west Michigan. Thursday and Friday could be nice, but more storms could roll in for the weekend.
