The Milwaukee Brewers are finding a royal pain in the Queen City as the Cincinnati Reds handled the Crew again Tuesday night 8-4.  MVP candidate Joey Votto went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's and Johnny Gomes tacked on a two run homer in the 4th.  Yovanni Gallardo was charged with all 8 runs in five plus innings to drop his record to 11-7.  Rickie Weeks hit his 25th homer of the year, a solo shot, but the Brewers left 10 runners stranded.  Milwaukee hopes to avoid a sweep sending Chris Narveson to the hill at the Great American Ballpark Wednesday night.

T-Rats roll

The Wisconsin TimberRattlers blasted Kane County 16-4 Tuesday night, breaking the game open with 6 runs in the second inning.  Chris Dennis and Kentrail Davis hit home runs in the big inning.  The T-Rats open their final three game home series of the year tonight hosting Quad Cities at Fox Cities stadium.

Gamblers set pre-season

The Green Bay Gamblers have released their pre-season schedule.  It opens with a two game series against the Chicago Steel in Illinois on September 17 and 18.  It concludes with a trip to Sioux City for the Fall Classic USHL pre-season tournament.  In between, the Gamblers will host the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League on September 21 at the Cornerstone Community Center.  Tickets are $5.00 with proceeds benefitting the Junior Gamblers youth hockey program.

Classic Soccer

The De Pere Redbirds knocked off Notre Dame 2-1 and Ashwaubenon shaded Preble by that same score to improve to 2-0 in the Fox River Classic Conference soccer race.  Other finals had Southwest beat East 5-1, Bay Port blanked West 3-0 and Pulaski defeated Sheboygan South 2-0.  In the Packerland conference, NEW Lutheran fell behind Kewaunee by 2 goals but rallied for a 3-2 overtime victory to improve to 7-1 on the season.  Luxemburg-Casco defeated Hortonville 3-1 for its first win of the year.

GB soccer kicks off

The UW Green Bay Phoenix mens soccer team, ranked 29th in one national pre-season poll, opens its season hosting DePaul at 7:00 PM at Aldo Santaga stadium tonight.
