GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - Police in Green Bay are looking for a man they say used a flat tire scam to get inside their cars and steal from them.

The Green Bay PD reports two incidents where a male approached a female in a local store parking lot. The suspect told the females that they had a flat tire and offered to assist them by re-inflating the flat tire on their vehicles. He then instructs the females to hold the air hose on the valve stem of the tire, while he goes in their vehicle to plug the compressor into the cigarette lighter.

While inside the vehicle he steals things from their purses. Items taken from the two incidents include cash and credit cards. One incident took place at Festival Foods, located at 2250 W Mason St. and the other incident occurred at Aldi’s Food, located at 1560 Western Av.

Ashwaubenon Public Safety have also reported  two similar incidents in their jurisdiction. Lt. Bill Bongle says he's apparently hit up parking lots in the Fox Valley as well.

The suspect is described as 5’08”-5’10” tall, slender build and about 50-60 years of age. He was driving an older red 4-door car with unknown license plate number.
