MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - A pharmacist who used to be on the UW-Madison Foundation is one of two people accused of importing and selling millions of counterfeit pills.
55-year-old Marla Ahlgrimm of Madison and 63-year-old Balbir Bhogal of Middleton are both due in federal court Friday. And they’re being held in the Dane County Jail in the meantime.
Federal prosecutors said Ahlgrimm and Bhogal imported drugs from India which looked like real medicines including Viagra – and they sold them to a number of vendors, including an Internet pharmacy service.
Ahlgrimm owns Women’s Health America, as well as pharmacies which provide hormone replacement therapies. She served for over a decade on the UW Foundation, and has been honored nationally for her business and civic achievements.
