LA CROSSE, WI (WTAQ) - Jennifer Shilling becomes the newest member of the Wisconsin Senate, the day after resigning from the Assembly.
A crowd of more than 200 watched her swearing-in ceremony at Black River Beach Neighborhood Center Saturday.
She had represented the 95th Assembly District since the 2000 election, but Shilling defeated Republican Dan Kapanke in the August 9th recall election.
Next up is a special election to fill Shilling's vacated Assembly position. The governor hasn't set a date for that election yet.
