HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The Board of the Holland Board of Public Works could extend a formal job offer to one of three finalists for the General Manager’s position during this afternoon’s special meeting at the City Flats Hotel.

The 12:30 session in the conference room of the City Flats Hotel on 7th Street is for the board to review and consider the contents of the applications for employment as the BPW’s new General Manager. Last Tuesday, the board narrowed the list of hopefuls to three finalists, two of which are internal – Business Services Director Dan Nally and Operations Director Dave Koster. The third is Wes Kelly, President and CEO of Pulaski Energy System and Energize fiber-optic broadband network in Tennessee.

Since that decision, those men underwent a leadership assessment conducted by a retained consulting firm; the board today goes over those results and could decide on who would be the first choice to replace Loren Howard, who stepped down at the end of October to assume operational control of a co-op utility in southern Colorado. Utilities Service Manager John Van Ufflen has been the interim GM since; he was eliminated from permanent consideration during last week’s public interview process.

The BPW board wants to have the new General Manager in place by February 1st.
