GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc community Center is announcing their opening date and starting to sign up members.

Starting Monday, they are singing up members and giving tours for the 95,000 sqft facility that offers a double gym, exercise room, an indoor aquatic center, art center, a church, countless programs and other amenities.

A Family rate is $60 a month with a $60 registration fee.  But the Joan and Ray Kroc center wants to make sure it’s affordable to everyone, and are offering scholarships.

“Families could get that cost reduced by up to 75%, 25,50, and 75%” said Director of Operations Jim Mancer.  "We looked at a lot of census data that included household income to come up with the rates"

The center says more than a third of families that sign up could quality for up to a 75% discount based on financial need and poverty rate in the area.

The center expects around 15-hundred households to sign up within the first year.

The center is also working with several partnerships, like the children’s Oral Health Partnership which is a free dental service provider for the under-served and uninsured children in the Green Bay area.

The 95,000 sqft Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center was made possible by a $46.5 million donation  and around $7 million raised by the community so far.

The community center announced that August 20th will be their official opening date.
