KALAMAZOO, Mi (WKZO) - A man who only recently moved to Michigan from Mississippi has reportedly drowned in Campbell Lake in Kalamazoo County. It happened Saturday evening at Robert Morris Park in Comstock Township. The victim’s name has not been released. The 22-year-old was reported missing at about 5:30 Saturday evening and his body found by county sheriff’s divers about an hour later.
He was rushed to the emergency room at Borgess Medical Center but could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The park was closed for the rest of the weekend, but is expected to reopen today.
He is the 5th to drown in the area, and the second in Comstock Township in the last month.
