WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Work begins today on a project to replace the pavement on and traffic signals along Highway 52 on Wausau's west side.

Westbound traffic on the road will be reduced to one lane. And for the next two weeks, the right turn lanes onto 17th Avenue and Highway 52 will be closed.

The D-O-T is also starting a project to repair the bridge decks on Highway 64 and Center Avenue in Merrill. The bridges will remain open to one lane of traffic and you can expect to find delays and temporary traffic signals.

And you'll want to keep an eye out for some work along the Highway 51-29 corridor. Crews will repair some beam guards and need to close one southbound lane on Highway 51 near the Highway 29 east and Highway NN interchanges. They'll also need to close one eastbound lane on Highway 29 from Highway 51 to Highway Y in Hatley. The work should be done by Thursday.

Crews are also going to be doing some shoulder girding in both directions on Highway 29 from the Clark County line to the Highway 107 interchange. That work won't wrap up until May 12th.
