MAYVILLE, WI (WTAQ) - Several hundred people gathered at Mayville High School Sunday to pay their final respects to Army First Lieutenant David Johnson.
They gave a standing ovation after members of Johnson’s family took turns sharing memories, and highlighting his kindness and values.
The 24-year-old Johnson was killed in action on January 25th in Afghanistan.
During the service, Johnson’s father was presented with his son’s Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals.
