Leah Wigger of Louisville, Kentucky is the winner of the second Island Resort Championship on the LPGA future's Symetra Tour at the Sweetgrass Golf Club in Harris, Michigan. Wigger started the final round with birdies on the first two holes and shot a final round of -2, 70 to win the title by three shots at 7 under par. It's the second Symetra tour win for Wigger. The top 10 finishers at the end of the year earn LPGA tour cards and the top women in golf are now descending on Kohler, Wisconsin for the 67th US Women's Open Championship. The US Open returns to Blackwolf after the course hosted the 1998 championship, won by Se Re Pak in a 19 hole playoff. Practice rounds begin on Monday, along with a Celebrity Shootout, a five hole scramble with touring pros and celebrity golfers that includes Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy, former players Mark Tauscher and Bill Schroeder, a Sheboygan native. Former Heisman trophy winner Ron Dayne and Joe Wolf, a Kohler native who is now an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks. The celebrity scramble begins at 2:00 PM Monday.
