Whitesnake has announced that it will take a touring hiatus for the rest of 2012. In a statement posted on the band's official website, the '80s metal stars revealed that they will spend the year mixing live tracks recorded during last year's tour in support of their latest album, Forevermore .
The rockers also plan to put together a DVD featuring performances from the trek. In addition, frontman David Coverdale and company are working on new songs, although the group currently has "no definite plans" to record another full studio effort.
