As great as Julie Wojta was for the UW Green Bay Phoenix last year, earning Horizon League player of the year and second team AP All-American honors, she wasn't quite good enough to stick with the WNBA Champion Minnesota Lynx. Wojta was released by the Lynx in their final cutdown Wednesday. The Francis Creek native scored 11 points and pulled down 9 rebounds in a pair of pre-season game appearances but it wasn't enough. Wojta was a second round pick (18th overall) on a team that returned all but one rostered player. That spot went to first round pick Devereaux Peters of Notre Dame, the third overall choice. Wojta hopes to hook on with another WNBA team or consider the possibility of joining former Phoenix teammates Celeste Hoewisch and Kayla Tetschlag in Europe.
